Happy Halloween!

Image
[mr. p & miss a] Happy Halloween from my family to yours! Wishing everyone a safe, warm, and fun trick-or-treating. It's an unusually warm day today, 60's, I hope they don't get too hot in their costumes, which ever they decide to be.

Oh Boy!

Image
Welcome baby boy! Aren't these little guys just adorable? This is a modified Owen baby announcement in the blue and chocolate, printed on smooth recycled white cardstock. I was lucky enough to meet this cutie pie last week when he and his mommy picked up the announcements. Unfortunately, we were still under the weather and couldn't hold him. [very painful for the kids and I, we love us a sweet cutie baby] I hope we get to see him again soon!

A little Funny!

Image
It's been one of those days today, so I could use a little pick me up with silliness. I thought maybe you'd enjoy too. Does the above photo really need a caption?! I didn't think so. [hmmm...where's my buried treaure?] [there he is!] [my turn]

What? No Pictures!

That's right, last night we went to a Halloween Party at our Community Center/Intermediate School and I didn't take one photo. Avery was the zebra and Paxton was the pink dragon. They looked so cute that way too. It was full of games, with prizes. The best part is none of the prizes were candy! Love it!!! Then there were rooms with different activities. The kids had so much fun and Avery who's scared of mascots, hugged the giant Clifford! She even said that was her favorite part of the day. About 10 minutes into it their hoods came off, then 35 minutes into it their entire costumes came off. Too Hot. Next year, maybe we'll need indoor costumes too. Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend! ps. Yes, I have been working and will post some of those soon.

Corn Maze

Image
Sunday we met some good friends at Sever's Corn Maze, our 4th annual fall harvest event, 2nd time here. While we never went thru the corn maze we did jump/crawl/play in a huge pile of corn kernals, listen to some music, eat, feed some animals at the petting zoo, go on pony rides, down a giant slide [much to Miss A's dismay], run around the kids hay bale maze, and enjoy the corn kernal pit again. To make the enjoyable day even better...what started as a 40 something degree day ended up a 60 something degree day. Thank goodness for layers.

ummm...yeah...

Thanks to the cold my kids gave me I have conjunctivitis, a.k.a. pink eye! I feel like I'm 8! Monday I had my first/baseline mamogram! I felt like I was 60!* Umm...yeah... I'm really 36! *[all is well and I won't be back until age 40]

A little early Halloween Fun

Image
[Avery the pink dragon & Paxton the Zebra] Saturday we went to a Halloween event at the Nature Center right by our home. We had so much fun. Yes, the kids still had their colds, but they got to wear their costumes, trick or treat, and pet animals. It was a gorgeous fall evening and couldn't have been more perfect! We will definitely be doing this again next year! Even if they can't eat any of the candy, they had so much fun and want to pet the animals again.

Organizing!

I'm always looking for tips on how to get everything done. I ran across this the other day and was excited to try it out. Tonight during bathtime, after both were washed up, I started cleaning while they played. Since my cleaning products are all natural, it's fine to clean and be in our small 1947 bathroom with all 3 of us. [My husband used to do all the cleaning when I wasn't near. Once I moved from corporate life to home life, I took on more of the cleaning and changed all to chemical free. Not only are they better for the environment and our health in general, but certain smells give me headaches/migraines and cleaning products had the worst effect, now I don't have to worry.] I must say it felt great to let them play and get cleaning done at the same time. I typically fit in cleaning, laundry, dishes, while they are playing nicely nearby, but for some reason I hadn't thought about what to do while they are in the bath. How simple and so wonderful I had...

I'm on Decor8

Wow! I'm on Decor8 ! My 2009 Wall Calendar made it onto their calendar round up. I had no idea. Thank you Kristen for letting me know. Thanks to whomever submitted my calendar. I am honored and greatful!

Fancy Nancy!

Image
I had never heard of Fancy Nancy until recently, have you? A mom asked me to create her daughters 5th b-day party invites and Fancy Nancy's the theme. I started researching and now I've seen her everywhere Barnes & Noble, Target... Here's a little glimpse into these girly invites.

Parts of our Home

Image
Above is a picture of our kitchen the summer of 2006, when our kitchen was a separate entity, but it shows the color I've had since moving in in 2004. In my old house, I painted each room every year or so. I love change, plus it's so refreshing and stimulates creativity. Once I had my twin babes, painting walls moved to the bottom of my to do list. Finally, 4 years later, I found the time to paint my one wall chocolate [the other side of this wall has been chocolate for a couple years, it's like one big mass now] the other orange wall will someday be the stone color like the other side....when I get around to it... [do you like our hanging pumpkins?]

Holiday Stationery

Image
A little holiday personalized stationery. These fun little flat note cards in a train text are printed on recycled cardstock. The train is shown in red but could be pink, blue, or any color. Perfect thank you notes too.

Remind me again

to stay away from those indoor play areas. We went a week ago and within days both kids came down with colds and coughs, now we all have them. Mr. P has been waking up coughing and it takes about 2 hours of coming in our room, getting a drink, putting him back with some extra snuggles, repeat until he finally stays asleep. Please let tonight be the night he doesn't wake up! On a positive note, I love looking around and seeing all the beautiful rich vibrant fall leaves blowing in the breeze and scattering the yard and streets. It is my favorite time of year. The kids and I love pointing out the trees that are red, orange, yellow, or somewhere in between. +++Update...last night wasn't the night for complete rest, my poor boy, maybe tonight+++

I'm going batty!

Halloween Decorating

Image
Now that the kids are getting older, they think it's fun to put out the Halloween decorations. We have been lacking in 'cool scary' exterior items and Monday Grandma Karen (Jer's mom) came into town and brought a 'scary guy' and 'scary ghost' for us to hang outside. They move and make scary noises and are pretty fun. Of course it rained all day Tuesday and finally after dinner, the rain stopped and out we went. {scary guy blends in with the trees, see upper left} {Daddy using his good arm to put the ladder away}

D is for Dinosaur

Image
Paxton and Avery are big into dinosaur's. A while back, we rented a Land Before Time video from the library and have seen a couple others in the series too. Since then Avery pretends to be Cera and Paxton, little foot. They found dinosaurs at Target that they had to 'put on their list.' They sold a few toys at our garage sale and were able to use their money to buy dinosaurs. Of course we had to go to two Targets to find the right ones. [Thank goodness we have 3 in a 5 mile radius] In honor of them, I found this dinosaur font and made them each personalized stationery. These will eventually make it into my shop . Oh and Daddy took them to the Library today and they came home with lots of dinosaur and truck books and a different Land Before Time video, how surprising!

Keepin' Up!

A quick note to say, I haven't posted because I've been working on: calendar production painting my kitchen - one color done/2nd color who knows when it'll be complete taking care of my husband (he had shoulder surgery on Tuesday & is doing as well as can be expected) getting ready for tomorrow's garage sale producing more Essentail Card Kits 1 & 2 getting ready for my holiday card party on the 18th filling orders & listing items trying out no napping & going to bed at 6:30/kids not me (that is yet to be determined as a new solution) wishing everyone a HAPPY FRIDAY and have a wonderful weekend!

Give Thanks!
