Labor Day Weekend!

I'm wishing all of you a safe and happy labor day weekend! We'll be spending the long relaxing weekend with family at my parents lake home. How will you be spending yours? I'll be back posting Tuesday.

Beginning to the special day!

A Save the Date card is the first item that each guest sees as the beginning to your wedding and new life together! They can be fun and unique or a preview to your wedding invitation, or coordinate with your wedding invitation. What ever you choose, it should be an extension of you both and the special event. These save the dates were custom made for this delightful couple. They have clean lines, a fun photo, and the wedding colors. These are printed on a recycled smooth finish cardstock. The back is printed with hotel information and wedding website. I love how they turned out too, they look even better in person.

"Have we met?"

" Hi! I'm Oscar, Oscar the owl! You'll be seeing me quite a bit this fall." Well, it only took me 2.5 months to turn my sketches into an actual design. I usually like to stay on top of the trends, this time I'm in the full swing of the owl trend. You will be seeing Oscar on birthday cards, thank you's, personalized stationery, holiday cards, and maybe even a wedding invitation. Oscar is a fun owl with a touch of whimsy. Don't you think? On the home front, both kids can't seem to shake their virus. P is on the downtrend (thank goodness) and A is peaking. Hopefully, they will both be done just in time for the long weekend.

Guidance Needed Please...

I have been working on my 2009 calendar and it's almost complete. Now I am asking you all for help in deciding how it should be produced. If you were to receive or purchase a 2009 calendar would you want it to be... 1. A desk calendar - fits in jewel case that can stand or 2. A hanging calendar

Save the Date

These custom colored Hip Circles save the dates went out last week. I love how one invite can look completely different, yet so fun, with each couples wedding colors.

So Close...

to making it all summer illness free! I jinxed myself last week by thinking how great it was that we went the summer without being sick...of course it was true until this past Wednesday. Mr. P wasn't himself most of the week, but when we were at the playground with friends and he wanted me to sit by him instead of playing, I knew something was off. Thursday he woke with a fever and complaining periodically about his tummy hurting, Friday he woke up fine, Miss A woke with a fever, again more movie and snuggle time. A was better by afternoon, P's fever was back at bedtime. Saturday both woke fever free but P was not himself, crying a lot, clingy. As the morning progressed he went downhill fast, fever, crying about his tummy, then grunting with pain. Of course it peaked at 1:00 so our dr. office was closed. P&I said a quick goodbye to Daddy & A and headed to urgent care, after 1.5 hours the dr. saw us and sent us to Children's Hospital ER (where I thought I shou

Say Goodbye to a dear ol' Friend

This is the home I grew up in since the age of 3! [that's my bedroom window directly behind the mailbox] It's lovingly referred to as 'the other house'. [Once my parents built their beautiful lake home last year, we had to distinguish between the two, lake house & other house.] My parents accepted an offer earlier this week. While I knew this day would come, I didn't realize how sad it would be when I left my from my last visit. I mean, I didn't even cry when I sold/moved out of my very own first home. Once the offer was signed, it rained for the next 24 hours, it's almost as if the house was saying "I'm sad too." Then the sun came out and the kids and I were able to enjoy swimming for the last time in that pool before we headed home. The hardest part is we were barely out of the driveway and Paxton was saying "I want to go to the other house again!" I think my youngest nephew said it best when we were there in July "We'

Polka Dot Heaven!

Image
Julie from ON THE DOT CREATIONS is hosting a party to celebrate the 6 month "blog-iversary" of her fabulous blog. The party starts Monday, August 18, yes, this Monday!!! She will be having all kinds of fun things going on, so be sure to check it out. Plus, she has alot of etsy shops participating in GIVAWAYS! [Sounds like 6 or 7 a day!] I will be one of the shops.....so don't miss out! My delightful giveaway had to be full of polka dot funness so I decided on the Lola Thank You cards - set of 10 [a $16 value] Now go tell all your friends to get in on the action.

Thank you!

I created wedding invitations earlier this year for this sweet couple. They were married in New York in July. Since they live in Florida, they honeymooned in Alaska! How perfect! Last week, I finished their matching thank you's and sent them off. [These match the Sydney Wedding Invitations]

Can I come?

Image
Doesn't this waterslide party sound like a blast? I whipped up these kid birthday party invites last week for 3 & 5 year old joint b-day party. Their Mom is renting a water slide. Printed in lime, hot pink, and light blue with brown text on recycled white smooth cardstock. The slide and water are designed, drawn, and digitally colored by me. I am so hapy with how fun they turned out. Do you have a little one's birthday coming up and need party invites? If so, I'd be more than happy to create them for you.

Front Page News

Look who made it to the front page of Etsy yesterday! I didn't see it, but a 'little birdie' told me.

Goodies!

It was a beautiful sunny day today, a great day for taking product shots. Well, of course, until I went outside and set up, the clouds rolled over the sun as if to say "Ha! Not today!" Thankfully, the clouds took the hint from my dirty look and moved on by. Below are some shots I was able to get. What do you think? A new version of the Hip Circles Wedding Invitation in taupes and fuscia. This is perfect for an anytime of the year wedding. Printed on my signature 100% recycled paper. Hip Circles Winter Wonderland Wedding Invitation. Printed on my signature 100% recycled paper, in shades of greys, taupes, with champagne snowflake cutouts adorning two circles. Names and date are printed in a beautifully yet fun cursive. Now in my previous blog , I mentioned a fall wedding invitation. Well, it didn't make it past quality control [me] so I haven't decided if I'll tweak it or trash it. [When I say trash, I really mean put it in the recycle bin!] I just love how one

Worth the wait!!!

Image
My new sofa arrived yesterday, finally!!! I ordered it in April, but it was sooooooo worth the wait. I just LOVE it, my husband not so much, the kids, they like it, except for the fact they can't eat on it nor will the animals be allowed on it [at least not for a while.] {the kids being silly to get in on the action} Sunday we went to IKEA for breakfast, playing, and batteries, [what can I say they have cheap batteries, and 2 kids with too many toys] but we came home with this floor lamp a total steal, and the charcoal side chair. I was planning on selling my tan chair, but now I don't mind it so much. So we'll see. The coffee table I designed before the kids were born, it has 3 rolling cubes that pull out and hold toys and blankets. The side table I designed and my dad built. {that's my puppy Tanner, making an appearance, he's 12}

More goodies to come!

I am happy to announce, I have a few more new Wedding Invitations to share with you once I get some good shots. One is perfect for a fall wedding, one is perfect for a winter wedding, and one is perfect for an anytime wedding. I am so excited by them. Unfortunately, Sunday was fairly overcast, which doesn't make for a good photo session. Then I forgot them today as I/we headed out to visit more family that are visiting MN from CA.
