REPOST :: originally title Happy Earth Day! 4.22.09 Original post..... I couldn't ask for a better day today to celebrate the Earth. The sun is shining brightly, my hasta's are popping up, the grass is getting green and spring is finally really here. Stelie Designs thinks about our planet earth and the environment all the time. I use 100% post consumer recycled white and natural papers & envelopes. They are made from a company that is FSC certified, works to be carbon neutral, processes chlorine free, and uses solar, hydro, and wind power at their mills. My printer doesn't emmit off gases, the ink uses very little packaging which is then recycled. I use biodegrable cello sleeves and recycle all scraps, paper, etc. On the home front, I use homemade cleaning and laundry products, recycle, wash full loads of laundry on cold wash cycle, paint as much as I can with low or no VOC paints, reuse what I can, buy organic and local when possible, teach my kids to turn of

REPOST :: {found this fitting since we are moving out of this house} originally posted 11.20.2007 3 years ago, we bought a new home circa 1947. We bought it from the original owners, and it was in desperate need of updating. Among other things, we had major plans for a kitchen renovation, then we found out we were pregnant with twins, then I went to part-time, then I quit my day job, and now...there's Stelie Designs. Meaning...completely gutting our kitchen keeps getting postponed. In the last 3 years we have removed the desk area, chair rail, vinyl cove base, added wood trim, painted the cabinets & hardware twice, replaced the appliances and lighting, added a doorway to the family room, removed walls between the kitchen and playroom (maybe someday it will return to a dining room again.) But we had never touched the ugly, dingy, vinyl floor. My goal is to put in hardwood floors like the rest of the house once we rearrange the kitchen, add an island, remove and expand windo

REPOST :: original posting 10.14.2007 I love to read blogs and am fascinated with reading people's thoughts, events, and creative ideas. As one of the last people to have a blog, I hope you find it interesting and/or informational Being the mom of 2 1/2 year old boy/girl twins, I always have funny stories that I want to cherish. Someday when my kids are grown they will be able to see what our life was like at this time. I am a Designer who quit corporate life in late May, and am finding that I love, love, love being home full-time with my babes. However, my babes only pay in kisses and hugs, so to help out financially, I decided to resurect my cards and invitation business, Stelie Designs, back from a friends and family only to a growing business again. Stelie Designs was created in 2000 with myself and a good friend, when I left a Design Firm, and she left corporate retail. Stelie is our names Stephanie & Julie combined. i've been blogging for almost 3 years. i'll be reflecting back in upcoming posts. because instead of blogging. taking photos. editing photos. etc. i should be packing. unpacking. you'll see and here new stuff later next week. thanks and enjoy reflecting with me.

they are now 13 months. such joy and such wonders. easton is walking.  running. walking backwards. into everything.  pointing.  loves to explore & throw things down the stairs. my favorite is when he comes over and leans in for a hug. such a lover. he has a great laugh. 4 teeth. and our sweet little boy. adler is a climber. climbs on everything. climbs on anything. starting to be interested in walking with assistance. has the sweetest toothy smile. my favorite is when i'm sitting on the floor she crawls over and climbs in my lap for snuggling. she too is such a lover. she loves to look at books.  play. be held. she has 7 teeth and is our sweet silly little girl.

if you follow my blog regularly, then you know my stelie designs office (along with my entire family) is moving this weekend.  YIPEE SKIPPEE!!!! what this means :: stelie will be closed 8.18.10 - 8.24.10 i must take time off to -  start   finish packing - close down all my printers - dismantle my computer - unplug all componets - load/unload - set up my new office - hook up internet, printers/equipment - unpack (no need to panic if we are already working together.) if you are in need of invitations and want proofs to review by wednesday. please contact me to discuss our options.    otherwise all orders purchased after 8.18 will be processed the following week. +++ i will have be accessible by email or etsy convo during this time +++

our new house now has a rock & nest collection. compliments of my big kids. while we were waiting for the countertop guy to finish measuring the kids had to entertain themselves since the home is in disarray.  shoveled rocks, dirt, and took these pictures. have a wonderful weekend!

i love the kinsley invite. it is one of my all time favorite designs. rich colors + very modern.  i finished these up a couple weeks ago for e&t. along with a reception save the date. why kinsley or kinslee? kinsley is what paxton's name would be if he'd been a girl. which he's not.  [i name all my invitation after names i like or people i know or what moves me at the moment] this last time around kinsley would've been Easton's name had he been a girl. which he's not. so it became adler's middle name with a different spelling. kinslee - lee is for my dad. it's his middle name, my brother's middle name, my nephew's middle name, my cousin's, my aunts. and i'm sure a billion other people's middle name too. but we did it for my dad. cuz he's a phenominal person and paxton is joseph after my mom & i [jo]. i digress. now back to this kinsley invitation set. it was full service. i am the only one who touched them before they

or rather city groom. i worked soley with my first groom. i've never worked with just a groom before. always the bride + groom. or just a bride. since they were both so busy with work he said they decided to "divide and conquer" in order to make it all happen. divide and conquer they did.  he was local. and incredible to work with. i find it interesting to hear how clients find me my shop. he said thru flickr. which reminds me...thank you flickr for sharing my photos and forgive me for neglecting you. oh and of course a giant thank you to nate and julie. a giant thank you to all my clients.
