a couple months ago, i was asked to create some custom stationery. my client wanted these for a girl friend that is building a house in the country.   the recipient loves the outdoors.  {the options i created} we ended up doing a combination of the 2 on the right.  they printed so lovely. of course, i need to print some for myself to photograph. (the first option was created after i saw a photo similar on her blog, the second is trees for outdoors and their lot is full of trees. the last 2 options is their house i drew.) these options are all available for you to personalize but probably won't make it to my shop  any time soon. contact me & i'll set up a listing for you.

for these blessings  {my husband hates that i take shots while he's talking:)}  along with many other things...wishing everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving.  there is so much to be thankful for.

this was last year's card  i've been working on this years holiday card.  a little different since it will be a moving and holiday card in one. {still need a kid photo} here are a couple options i decided on... this more traditional card or this more whimsical one i was thinking of doing one with my zoo animals on a trailer saying  "we moved to a new zoo" i thought funny & cute, my husband thought not. i'm pretty sure it will be the sleigh, since it's a collaborative effort.  my husband said how about a sleigh and say we've moved. i liked the idea. drew a sleigh, presents, our living room lamp and changed the words. plus, i think we're more fun than traditional. now just to get a picture....

remember how i love a design challenge? {if you know me or follow me then you do. if not, you know now.}   now where was i...oh right..so i love a design challenge, especially the ones that are out of my comfort zone and push the envelope. for instance, i was asked for more girly designs. girly! what's that?!? while i loved dolls and barbies when i was young, i was never a girly girl.  i remember saying to my mom "that's too girly" avery {my oldest daughter} is NOT girly. we don't do princess, dance, barbie, you know...girly stuff. she is my animal lover. we do all things animal. {hence, all of my animal designs} back to loving a design challenge. i put on my girly thinking cap and have so far have come up with the following... {ballet dancer ~ shown on large notepad} {princess castle ~ shown on stationery} {princess crown  ~ shown on stationery} there are more drawn and will be drawing some princesses in the next week or so.  these aren't yet li

it started with the olive save the date card  then a custom + more formal wedding invitation then menu's, table cards, placecards and ended with happily ever after!

 what happens when my oldest kids make + decorate their papa's birthday cake?!? this....

{pug pups holiday greetings} {penguin friends season's greetings} {leo the lion holiday card} some of my original animals, along with rudy the rhino wrapped up warm in their scarves ready to put a smile on your recipients face.  these are now available in my shop .

yesterday, i was thinking about our new home. we love it. just love it. but honestly...there is not one room in this house that is 100% complete. someday maybe. so i'll continue to show you the progress of our home. {before} the above before pic shows the lovely vinyl floor the bank put in the entry, (we've heard the original floor was removed due to damage) the oak base boards that were half chewed and scratched by dogs.  the medium pergo floor beyond with significant scratches.  thankfully the new carpet was neutral and the new paint a warm neutral.  {after..one night while heading up to tuck kids in} we replaced the entry, kitchen,eating area with new maple laminate floors.  thanks to my dad and jer for installing.  (we decided on laminate for durability, timing, and cost. i've lived with real wood floors for 10 years. love them but not how easily they damage with pets and kids.) so far we replaced all the main level baseboards and most of the window trim

do you remember this round tree personalized stationery i created a year ago? no.  well..i was looking thru my photos yesterday when i saw these again my mind started racing and all kinds of ideas popped into my head so i started designing...and this is what happened. the round tree wedding invitation set. perfect for a spring or summer wedding. the sun is shining.  i better print and photograph.

 {print found here } i'm a positive person, i see the "silver lining" in everything.  although, i admit, monday when my husband came home and told me he was getting laid off for the month of november, i had a lapse in being positive.  probably from being sleep deprived (i've only slept 7 straight hours 2x's in 2 months)  while my cold has subsided, 3 of my kids still have their's (adler now has double ear infection)   i needed time to let it sink in and look for that "silver lining"   ~ in may, when my husband was needed back at work after 2 months off, we all cried. we loved having him home all day and were really going to miss him. plus, those months were stelie designs highest grossing sales ever ~ {print found here } i found these art prints inspiring and a reminder that this shall pass and everything is going to be okay.  i've been gearing up for stelie's busiest holiday season yet.  so that silver lining...now i can wo
