unique design

Image
one of my favorite things to do is create custom designs. earlier this month i was asked to create a camel save the date design for a couple in the UK who are getting married on a camel farm next spring. just the kind of project to get my creative juices flowing...while i can't show you the final design yet, here are a couple non-winners. let me know if you want me to create something for you or if you are interested in these designs.

reality

Image
this morning i got myself and 4 kids ready, fed everyone, and loaded them all in the car ahead of schedule. we actually had to wait in the drop off line at preschool for the doors to open. i was feeling good, proud really, until i hear avery say "mommy we forgot our school bags!" and paxton "too late now." sigh...my first time ever forgetting them. oh well at least we were early and not almost late like when i was searching everywhere for my keys wondering why they weren't on their hook, or pulling over on the interstate ramp to throw my kids (2 rows back) their milks to stop them from complaining of being thirsty, then parking on said ramp to climb back 2 rows to comfort avery since my bad aim meant her milk hit her in the head. no none of that. just happy to get lots of hugs & kisses in the car while we waited for the doors to open.

meet sadie

Image
she's modern with a classic flair... printed in marigold and charcoal on my signature 80# recycled white smooth finish cardstock. her final design is actually a happy accident. i accidentally hit fill in the wrong selection, giving me lots more charcoal and loved it. i hope you do too.

chance = diy

Image
in 2009 i had many requests for my existing invitations to be diy. i take great pride in the quality of my designs/invitations and wasn't ready to give up quality control and i'm still not with some. however, to give my clients options in 2010 i will be adding more diy invitations with a printing option of course. here is chance, what do you think? the design inspiration came from my daughters shirt, i can't seem to find a photo of her wearing it so i'll have to take one. and show the process.

lasso

Image

seriously

a new blog post series for 2010 to give you a dose of my reality as a work at home/business owner/mom of 4. january 1, i decided to take all 4 kids to the mall of america on this severely brisk day. we did our semi quick tour of underwater adventure, ate the lunch i brought in babygap's nursing room, built tall structures at legoland, and played with all the toys at one of nickelodean universe's toy store. i wanted to get home before babies next feeding so after a wonderfully fun and fairly easy excursion we headed for the car. we headed thru bloomingdales for the elevator, we waited a couple minutes, doors opened and easton started screaming, he got scared. quieted him down, got off the elevator, rushed to the baby section just outside the doors, put easton in his snowsuit (yes they are no longer in infant carriers) and was starting to get adler's out when... paxton "i have to go potty" me "can you wait? we'll be home soon" paxton "no mommy, i
