i'm sure you all know by now that turquoise is the HOT color trend of 2010.  its all the rage! i of course had to jump on the bandwagon being the trend forward person i am and paint my dining room (aka playroom) this HOT color of turquoise.  i'm so 2010. don't you think? (on second thought don't answer that) oh wait this pic is my dining room in late 2005.  who knew in 2005 i'd be so 2010?!?   b.k. (before kids) i painted every room once a year.  i love change, a fresh new color, new designs, a new new outlook. well and  interiors were my profession.  a.k. (after kids) finding time to paint moved (and keeps moving down) the priority list.  but i love the color, even after close to 5 years.  :: it helps that during those years, the windows, rug, lighting, and bins have changed + the wall on the left is no longer ::

when a bride mentions they are having a non-traditional wedding and want the invitations and especially the rsvp's to reflect that. i of course jump up and down and do a happy dance.  once i contained my composure, i asked lots of questions about the couple to use to formulate into options. first the bride is a vegetarian and the groom is somewhat by association, so here is one option: second, the bride is a math teacher and the groom an electrician.  i couldn't think of anything good regarding electrician stuff so i came up with this option these were not the "one". you'll have to wait until the finished product is out the door.

my "nieces" are turning 6 soon and their mom [my best friend] is throwing them a gymnastics party.  she told me what she wanted and asked me what i could do.  so i did this. the gymnastics party package i elluded to in this post . [invite, cake toppers, thank you tags] is complete and out the door.  the girls, trampoline, and bar are my original drawings digitally colored. since the girls are in separate classes, they received individual invites as well.  i'm thrilled how they turned out. are you? the above buffet had definitely seen better days. matchbox cars were constantly zoomed into it. not to mention ride on toys were driven into it when p&a were young.  last year, my husband built a beautiful cabinet we put in the basement for the kids toys.[toys that rarely stayed in it.] then light bulb...why is this in our basement? so above buffet went to another family and this gorgeous piece now sits in my living room. isn't it gorgeous? it makes me smile everytime i look at it.  : : [please don't point out the photo frame only has pics of my 2 oldest kids. i know. i know.] : : *looking for your own gorgeous piece? email me. i have an in with the awesome cabinet maker, aka. my husband. this is what 5 looks like! happy and having fun. as 5 should be. i am thankful everyday for these 2 blessings. 2 blessings that turned 5.

march is a big month in our house. two of my kids and two of my nephews have birthdays and my parents anniversary to name a few. how better to celebrate than with a giveaway?!?! maybe more than one? good. i'm glad you agree. over the course of 2 weeks you'll be able to win stelie designs cards, new art prints, and gift certificates. stay tuned. to this afternoon.

all brides have colors in mind.  designing invitations to fit those colors thru emails instead of in person can pose a challenge.  if i let it.  i don't.  instead i create color options, print, photograph, email.  here is an example. the couple wanted 2 shades of blue. i sent 4 options. they picked the perfect one for them and got this             

dare i admit the week i've had? monday  sent kids to preschool in fireman costumes for dress up/fancy day  walked shopping center during preschool. while pushing stroller & window shopping, i was admiring all the cute spring fashions. saw an adorable outfit. then thought “not really for someone 35” then thought “am i 35? no i’m 36…NO i’m 37!” i don’t feel 37 nor do i feel 35.  picked up kids from school to find out dress up day is on tuesday  husband called to say he was officially laid off of work.  made 5:30 dr. appt for adler. packed everyone up, drove thru mcdonalds for dinner, threw cheeseburgers back to the big kids, shlepped all 4 kids into dr. office & rx. as i suspected her double ear infections weren’t gone. tuesday  woke to paxton’s barking cough, kids stayed home from school. thankful they dressed up a day early. wednesday  picked up kids from preschool, while loading everyone, their classmate was getting into car next to us. as i was buckling in 2nd b

happy birthday to my favorite 15 yr old nephew! even though you made fun of my singing this morning, i still love you.
