Crazy fun times

Image
A couple weeks ago, I packed up my minivan with all 4 kids, my parents, a double stroller, luggage, food, snacks, toys, and me for a trip to my home town. This usually 3.5 hour trip ended up taking 5+ because we had to stop not once but twice to feed my babies. The first stop was a bit hairy with all 4 kids crying [2 little ones hungry, 2 older ones not wanting to get out of the vehicle until after Papa was out of sight and I'd already started feeding, too late.] The had absolutely no issues getting out of the van immediately at the second feeding stop: ) Our first full day there was filled with visitors chatting, holding a baby, and playing with the big kids, while I was working steadfast to complete those 232 notepads I mentioned here . Crazy! Our second day was filled with fun and firsts. We visited the Great Plains Zoo, remember last year when my kids did this ? It was Easton & Adler's first trip to a zoo and first trip out of state for that matter. [Adler's firs

Back up and running...

Along with the rest of us, my computer got a virus and had to be fixed. It's back and up and running again. I'll be posting soon.

Helping a Good Cause

Image
There are so many wonderful causes out there but this one stood out in my heart. Meet Adrienne and Jim and read their story here . I have been following Adrienne's blog for a long time now and after 6 miscarriages and 2 failed US adoptions, they have found their baby girl, Lily, in South Korea and need to raise money to bring her home. Why it struck me so strongly is because my husband and I wanted to be parents more than anything and unfortunately it wasn't happening for us naturally. We needed help. During our 18 month quest to get pregnant, I researched International adoption, and was surprised at the enormous expense. If our first round of invitro didn't work this was to be our next option. We were blessed with our miracles Paxton & Avery and my parents for helping us financially. (Later blessed with two more miracles Easton & Adler conceived from our frozen embryos) Therefore, I am donating 15% of all my sales to them when you mention Lily at time of purchase.

Notepads, notepads, and more notepads

Last week, I received an order for 232 notepads. Yes, 232 notepads! That is 2,320 printed pages, cut into quarter size, 232 pieces of chipboard, and gluing 232 notepads, 232 labels, 232 notepads packaged individually, and 3 mailing boxes. This was a rush order, I was excited to fulfill. I had 3 days to complete, however, 1 day was spent in the car headed to my hometown (that is another story.) I sent them all out on Thursday, in my desire to mail that evening, I forgot to take pictures so you can see what 232 individual notepads looks like.

Feeding the Babies

Image
While in my hometown last week, Paxton and Avery were playing Mommy, Daddy & babies. I heard Avery say it was time to feed the babies and she headed into the bedroom...this is what I found...isn't she just adorable... like mommy like daughter...

Paisley Wedding

Image
Paisley's are another hot trend in textiles. I created paisley placecards for a couple earlier this year and have been meaning to turn them into a wedding invitation. The paisley's and text are in shades of green and blue green. Printed on 80# recycled white cardstock in a smooth finish with rounded corners. If you have been following my work, then you know these will probably show up in personalized stationery, my 2010 calendar, other cards and who knows what else. What would you like to see them on?

My Family!

Meet Reese

Isn't she fun...bright, bold, modern and trendy... Argyle is a hot trend in fashion so why not stationery too? The fuscia and bold orange along with black text is printed on 100% post consumer recycled white 80#cardstock in a slight linen texture. The text is right justified and all placed in the lower right for that added modern look. I am in love with these new invitations I designed. How about you? These work perfect for party, shower, or anything invitations. As always can be custom colored to fit your event.

A day at the Park

Image
Friday was my first full day with all 4 kids by myself. I needed to make a paper store run and since it was a gorgeously sunny day, we stopped at the big park close to the paper store on our way home. Our new life outside the home is done between feedings. I figured we had 1.5 hours to accomplish all. After showing off our newest set of twins to all at the paper store (which is sadly closing their Burnsville store due to the economy.) we unloaded everyone and our lunch at the park. Of course it was quite busy with 2 different school/summer program groups. After dousing my big kids in sunscreen they were set free to play, while the littlest kids and I had to stay put near the entrance, the park isn't stroller friendly with so many levels and a sand ground. Just our luck within 5 minutes, Easton needed to be changed. While finishing him up, Adler started crying (her cry is loud and louder) a concerned woman went to the stroller. Me: "oh she's getting hungry. " The woma
