summer hair

Image
hard to believe summer's almost over.  my kids finally have summer hair too. better late than never. [that seems to be my motto lately] [my little boy not looking so little anymore] mr. p wanted his hair shaved off like daddy's. he got his wish. miss a. wanted her hair shaved off like daddy and paxton too. she did not get her wish. but settled for mommy's length. enjoy your weekend. we will be immersed in dust. ripping out the kitchen & floors. scrapping the ceiling. choosing paint colors. you know the usual.

pampered

Image
doesn't every person bride want to be pampered? especially before their wedding. this bride formalized it with an actual invitation. here is the summer wedding design as a pedicure invite. see. my designs can be used for anything. just ask. go ahead. ask.

my love

Image
its my loves birthday today. he's an amazing person and father with an incredible heart. 35 never looked so good on him. happy birthday jer! hope its a good one.

a year

Image
makes a world of difference my nephews were here for 3 weeks this month.  3 weeks full of laughter. fun. playing. goofing. riding. water. heat. fun. silliness. teasing. just not enough time before they had to head back home.

doesn't everyone

quickly sketch out their kids rooms and artwork? or is it just me? my kids will have a new room in our new house. [they have chosen to continue sharing a room instead of separating.] trying to make the transition easier.  i've asked them what they'd like their new room to look like. paxton wants hot wheels flames. avery wants something "stripey" and maybe birds. this poses a slight challenge. possible solution :: painted canvas artwork with flames and with birds, floor to ceiling colored stripes at their beds. we have some time yet, so i've been known to change my mind.

for the birds

what do you get when you take these adorable clothes pins  for color inspiration and the saylor wedding invitation .   plus change up the font a bit.  add rounded corners? these wonderful invitations perfect for michelle and jonathan. these are in today's mail.  i love them so much i couldn't wait to post.

a little bit country

Image
if you follow me on facebook [please do] or twitter then you already know.  i'm moving! stelie's moving! my family is moving.  we're moving from the city to the country. actually... a small town surrounded by country.  a small town without a target. a small town without a starbucks. we pass crops. farms. horse stables. organic farms. fields. we pass cows. horses. llamas. goats. on our way from our current home to our new home. we're moving from 3 targets within 5 miles to the closest target being 21 miles. i've always been a city girl at heart. i prefer a cabin to camping. the sounds of traffic to the sounds of crickets. i prefer starbucks to caribou. target to walmart. pools to lakes...well...you understand. i am extremely excited for this adventure and where we are headed. i got that feeling when i walked into the house. that feeling it's meant to be mine. that feeling where i see our kids playing and growing up. that feeling that its perfect for us. breath of fresh air

Image
earlier this year, i added art prints to my shop. i created many. listed a few. then weddings got in the way. i have many yet to list. but for now i'm going to share. with you all first. these girl and boy wall art groupings. are fun. modern. just my style. enjoy this breath of fresh air. while i continue slaving away on wedding invitations and stop to get family photos taken later this morning. i'll show you what i've been working on someday in the near [or distant]  future.

racoons

Image
the other morning the racoons made a mess of our garbage. again.  [we live 1 block from nature center] paxton and avery helped their dad clean it up.  and came inside wanting to make racoon masks. so we did. have a great weekend!

craft project

Image
there are so many beautiful flag banners on etsy and i wished i had been on the ball and ordered one in time for the babies birthday party.  so a couple days before their actual party, i took these fabrics {scraps i had and others from my mom} the night before their party, i made a triangle template, cut them out of fabric, layed them out on the table to see what order i liked best, then my husband asked what i was doing. i told him. his response "YOURE GOING TO SEW THEM!" my response "yes" him silence and went to get dig out the sewing machine. we've been together 8.5 years and in that time i have sewn ZERO times but i used to sew pillows and curtains for my dollhouse when i was younger!  Then I realized I didn't have any banding ribbon like i thought.  I called my mom (the seamstress) she said she'd bring some in the morning.  A few hours before the party, my mom arrived with different options for me.  I chose and she sewed.  thanks mom, it looks beau

plans

the past few weeks or months have been busy. crazy busy.  business and personally. steliewise. thank you to all my clients for making my business a growing success.   with increased orders come... longer production times [affecting new clients] little time to design new products. unless custom orders. loving weddings even more personally. my nephews are staying with my parents most of july. meaning we want to spend lots of time with them and less days of daycare for me.  and wanting more time with my kids before kindergarten starts.  plus. they are such a joy to be around. meaning late nights. early mornings. lots of coffee. plus we're moving. [post coming soon] with that comes designing a new kitchen. selecting paint colors. packing. getting our house ready for the market. moving. unpacking. therefore my blog posts will probably be... more photos than text. or maybe not. more kid related. {photographing, downloading, editing, takes time} more house/design related.

what 1 looks like...

pairs

Image
as you know (or maybe not) i love pairs. pairs of kids.  pairs of ampersands. another pair of kids. pair of scissors... so when a client told me she and her future husband were having a joint family reception with her future brother-in-law and his almost wife. i was excited to do invitations for a pair of married couples.  a pair of soon-to-be married couples actually. after all this talk of pairs you'd think the invite would have pears * ! but no even better it has pinwheels. * i do have pears hanging from a branch that i drew 2 years ago. in case you are looking for pears.

one

Image
my babies are one!! one year ago today.   this was me. and this was your introduction to the world. what a blessing you both are to our family. easton. you love to smile. walk along/behind everything. point and jabber. stand alone. you are finally getting your 3rd tooth. we call you "messy marvin" when you eat. you are very curious. frustrate easily. a papa's boy. love to laugh. play peek a boo. giggle. open and close things. you prefer to push a chair or kid table instead of a push toy. you bring such joy to our family. adler. your toothy grin lights up a room. you love to read books. play. talk. stand. pull yourself up. be held. take your hat off. you are getting your 6th tooth. you are silly. dramatic. love to play coy. a grandma's girl.  a fantasic hugger and snuggler.  love to laugh. bite. stick your finger in your nose. play peek a boo. giggle. you bring such delight to our family. happy birthday my baby loves.
