New Card Design

Image
This is a new card design, it's organic nature is simply beautiful to have on hand. These are blank which is perfect for a thinking of you, thank you, hi, what's up?, miss you, mother's day, how are you? or anything really. It's an original hand designed by me that has been digitally colored for variety. It's a variation of a sample wedding invitation. That will be coming to my Etsy shop soon. This is shown in periwinkle on white linen cardstock. What do you think? Love it but want other colors? It can be done, just say the word.

Tables, tables, tables...

Image
Here are table cards for an upcoming wedding. These are fun and turned out better than I imagined, but I'm more esctatic about the place cards, they are divine! [I'll post those later] Amazing how a 3.5" x 3" card can bring so much creative pleasure... These coordinate with the pocket fold invites, save the dates, programs, place cards, cd label, and candy labels. A cohesive wedding or event package is the way to go. I'll post the whole package in the next few weeks.

Oh The Joy of Ketchup!

Image
Miss A LOVES her ketchup...she dips most things in it. I cringed when she dipped her cinnamin roll in it, but I think dipping grapes takes the cake! Here's a pic of her loving her turkey sandwich & ketchup. I didn't have the camera for the others. Ketchup is a Giesen trait, we love to dip potatoes, meat, & eggs in it but Avery goes way beyond. We even had to call and tell Papa about her new food experiments, he said he wouldn't be trying them. I say, at least she's eating!

Mother's Day is coming...

Here's a sneak peek at some Mother's Day cards I created today! I have to gear up for the Etsygreetings Mother of All Promotions for Mother's Day, it starts in 2.5 weeks!

The Easter bunny's here

Image
Happy Easter from the Giesen-Kath Family!! We have a lovely shade of white outside and spring inside. They really should've had snowboots on. Our morning started at 5:00 am "Easter Bunny come yet!" over and over until we rolled out of bed. They had fun hunting eggs and opening each one as they found it. Then we played, bathed, got dressed, and went to Julie & Shawn's, our dear friends, house for a delicious brunch. Where there was lots of food and even more playing. It was 8 kids & 6 adults. Now we are home and everyone is napping but me. Here are picks of hunting and decorating eggs.

As Promised!

Image
Here are the birthday pics I promised. Remember Avery was still not feeling well, so they got to stay in their jammies. Maybe it was the power of cake, candles, and presents that worked their magic and made her fever finally break after 7 days. Check out the most amazing cakes ever, Lightning McQueen and Pablo that my mom made. Not only cute but yummy too. Pic w/ Great Aunt Cindy's arm & Great Cia (their great grandma) Daddy & his b-day miracles Paxton showing off his new helmet & pads to ride his motorcycle (tricycle/big wheel) Avery showing off her helmet & pads Then on their real b-day we had a party at Chuck E. Cheese with all their friends, and grandma & papa. Unfortunately, their aunt & uncle were sick so their cousins couldn't make it. Thankfully the kids had a great time and never knew their real party was canceled.

The last 8 days

I think this is the longest between posts. It's been another crazy week, Miss A is still not herself, waking up 2-3 times a night, as of today, we are now going to put her back on Zantac and see if that helps. We sure hope so, we all need a good nights sleep. Mr. P is recovering from an ear infection (I think only his 2nd or 3rd one in his life) Jer & I are on the mend from his throat thing, and my sinus infection. We played outside on one of our 40 degree days and yesterday colored a few easter eggs. Where is spring to get us all some fresh air? Not sure after our last few days of snow! I also completed, packaged, and mailed a few orders. Created a custom cd cover, created & produced custom candy labels, and programs for an upcoming wedding [I will post those at a later date,] took and re-took tons of product shots, posted a couple new items, reworked some packaging, submitted for an indie show, managed emails, signed up to be part of a mothers day promo w/the etsy

Happy 3rd Birthday to my 2 best creations!

Image
Three years ago at this time, we were just about to head to the hospital for our scheduled c-section. This is our last pic as just the two of us at home. After being delayed 2 times Paxton Joseph & Avery Isabel were finally born at 2:23pm both 6 lbs. 1 oz. and 20" long. They have brought so much joy and love into our lives in their 3 short years. We are truly blessed and the luckiest parents in the world. Thank you Paxton and Avery for being our children. I love being your mommy it is the greatest joy! Happy Birthday!!

Change of Plans

After the 3rd visit to the doctors office, we had to cancel yesterday's big 3rd birthday party. Avery didn't recover in time and on Saturday, the 7th day, her fever finally broke for good we hope. Unfortunately, her mouth and throat are full of ulcers, what a horrible virus. She still isn't sleeping very well and can only eat grandma's homemade pumpkin bread and cake. Thankfully she's finally eating and drinking. We still had cake and candles on Saturday since their great-grandma and great aunt came in town to celebrate. Presents and cake finally brought a smile to her face after a week. I'll post pictures soon. The new plan is to celebrate with friends on Tuesday (their actual b-day) evening at Chuck-E-Cheese. Hopefully there will be some cake left.

Family Update

This week we are gearing up for the big "3" birthday party on Saturday. I can't believe in one week from today, Paxton & Avery will be 3 years old. It seems like yesterday they were still in my tummy or I was holding them with one arm. Sigh... We've had a rough start, Miss A had a high fever starting Sunday night and yesterday a sore throat. Yesterday was the worst she wouldn't eat, was uncomfortable, had no energy, but last night she was running around, today has been better so hopefully it was just a 24 hour thing. Another BIG change in our home is the "nuk fairy" came on Monday. Yes, they still had a nuk (a.k.a. pacifier) at nap and bedtime. I created the "nuk fairy" and I drew a calendar and we crossed off the days until she came to take our nuks away. She brought DJ's instead. Like I said they both LOVE the movie Cars and have been asking for DJ everytime we go to Target since they came out. I was a bit leary since Miss A was sick,

Baby Shower Anyone?

Image
I just completed these baby shower invites. These are made with 2 shades of pink text printed on white linen cardstock layered on top of 2 shades of pink striped paper. The edges were cut with a victorian design. The buggy is hand stamped with a hand tied bow added for a dimensional effect. They are a bit different than my usual more modern design, but it's the feel the client wanted and I surprisingly love them. Very little girly! They are so adorable and perfect for this baby girl. Here's another pic of a small portion of the 50 invitations. Amazing how orange walls in the evening cast such an interesting glow.
