school bags

last summer before the babies arrived, i wanted to make the kids a school/book bag and fill it with books. games. toys. snacks. for them to have while visiting me in the hospital.

a gift from the babies actually.

they were so easy and the kids love them. we use them for school bags.

to make your own all you need is ::

plain canvas totebags [i got these at michael's]

fabric scraps [i raided my mom's, i was 8 mos prego w/twins & could barely walk]

whatever else you want to decorate with

then i ::

drew my own letters to spell each childs name [you could use a computer printout or pre-made stencils]

drew my own animals [i chose a butterfly & shark]

cut your stencils out of fabric

have your mom sew them to the bag [or you can sew them yourself if you choose]

 we also use them as library bags and for taking extra toys to grandma & papa's.
