My husband works in the high end custom cabinetry industry. He asked me to make a couple notepads to give to his bosses before their company holiday party in December. I work best under pressure, so a few hours before the party, he told me what he wanted a level and a tape measure. The kind of level they use we didn't have at home, so he found a photo online for me to look at then draw. I started getting too detailed for Jer so I erased some and added the name "Brad" in wood grain. Jer put the tape measure he wanted me to draw on my desk and I went to town. While these aren't listed in my shop, they are available for your handy person or lover of tools. Who thinks I should send these to the companiss that make the level and tape so they can use them for their employees or customers?
2013 for Stelie Designs is about leaping. Taking leaps out of my comfort zone. Taking leaps to grow this business. My first leap is doing a Bridal Show, UNVEILDED ! Happening this weekend....eek. slight panic..deep breaths... I sketched up a plan then digitally drew up my plan seen above. My amazing husband built our wall & shelves to test in our unfinished basement. After putting it together, we took it apart and got started painting. I'll be at the Minneapolis Convention Center Sunday, February 10 from 11-4 with my dear friend & former business partner. Wish me luck! I am so very very excited and a bit scared + nervous.

One day late last October, I taped out my stripes with frog tape. Honestly, I had super high hopes for frog tape. My first time using. In reality the key to clean / straight lines isn't the tape, it's painting over the tape with the base color, providing a clean seal. Paxton got to work on the charcoal grey. I wasn't thrilled with how the base color made it more brown than grey. I had to do 3 coats and could've done more but was ready to be done. Not quite dry. In all honesty, I still wasn't loving how it was turning out. Not so kid fun, more adult fun. Here is how it looks now. After adding some key lime green, hot pink pops of color, I'm happy with it. (for now at least.) Paxton & Avery got desks f...
