seriously
a new blog post series for 2010 to give you a dose of my reality as a work at home/business owner/mom of 4. january 1, i decided to take all 4 kids to the mall of america on this severely brisk day. we did our semi quick tour of underwater adventure, ate the lunch i brought in babygap's nursing room, built tall structures at legoland, and played with all the toys at one of nickelodean universe's toy store. i wanted to get home before babies next feeding so after a wonderfully fun and fairly easy excursion we headed for the car. we headed thru bloomingdales for the elevator, we waited a couple minutes, doors opened and easton started screaming, he got scared. quieted him down, got off the elevator, rushed to the baby section just outside the doors, put easton in his snowsuit (yes they are no longer in infant carriers) and was starting to get adler's out when...
paxton "i have to go potty"
me "can you wait? we'll be home soon"
paxton "no mommy, i have to go"
me "remember when i wanted you to go at gap?"
we quickly head thru the childrens dept, tabletop, china, and luggage to get to the bathroom, they are automatic so of course we have to wait for the handicap stall. easton is now crying (he's hot and tired.) door opens we head in everyone does their business and easton is still crying and crying that verbirates loudly off marble. after, i carry easton, we head back thru luggage then china, when uh oh, paxton scraps his hand on the mirror table top, and starts to cry. i'll get you a band aid as soon as we stop.
we make it to baby section, put easton back in stroller, he starts crying, i get band aid for paxton, avery now makes up hurting her finger and needs a band aid, "wait 'til we get to the car" i say, i start putting adler's snowsuit on, she's crying, now i have 2 screaming babies and 1 pouting 4 year old. if it wasn't so blasted cold out, i would've thrown the blankets on the babies and rushed everyone out whether they had a coat on or not, but instead everyone had to have coats, hats, and mittens on, well except for me. by now the sales woman was coming closer, i stood up and...
me "i'm sorry for all the noise"
she "don't worry about it, looks like you have your hands full"
me "they just don't like their snowsuits"
she smiles "have a nice day"
we did!
